Kindergarten
ELA- For the remainder of the year we will be reviewing all the sounds and sight words we've learned. A new phonics book will come home each Wednesday. Please have your child read the book to you throughout the week!
Math- The kids continue to enjoy Math Time. Their number and pattern skills have greatly improved!
Promotion Ceremony- The Kindergarten promotion ceremony will be Wednesday, June 4th at 10:30. I'll send home more information next week.
Children's Book Week- We're celebrating Children's Book Week tomorrow! Don't forget to wear PJs and bring a stuffed animal to read to!
Play Day- Play Day is Friday, May 30th. I'll send home more information next week.
4th Grade
ELA-We will continue to complete the Smarter Balanced field test this week. The kids will start their final ELA story on Monday, May 19th.

This week we will continue working on counting to 30, number puzzles, number stories, addition, and subtraction.
ELA
We are reviewing all sounds learned so far. We will also review all sight words learned this year.
Fourth Grade
ELA
We did not begin a new story today. We will practice for the Smarter Balanced test during the next couple weeks, and continue to work on the standards portion of the ELA journal.

Class News, April 7-11
Kindergarten
Math
I have restructured the way I teach math to better meet the needs of my students. We now have Math Time every day. During this 45 minute period, we learn/practice number concepts and patterns. We also discuss addition and subtraction. The students are much more engaged and enthusiastic since we began Math Time.
ELA
Today the kids met Umbie Umbrella and Jumping Jill. Umbie says /u/ (short) and Jill says /j/. We will also learn the sight word are.
Fourth Grade
ELA
This week we started reading The Scientific Method.

AT&T Field Trip
On Tuesday, April 1st, the fourth graders went to AT&T park to learn about geometry. We had so much fun!
