Class News, April 28-May 2

Kindergarten

Math
This week we will continue working on counting to 30, number puzzles, number stories, addition, and subtraction.   

ELA
We are reviewing all sounds learned so far. We will also review all sight words learned this year.

Fourth Grade

ELA
We did not begin a new story today.  We will practice for the Smarter Balanced test during the next couple weeks, and continue to work on the standards portion of the ELA journal.    


Homework
Math- daily, check planner
Reading Log- each entry must be three sentences written in cursive, due Fri.
Spelling- check planner
ELA test, Friday

Class News, April 7-11

Kindergarten

Math
I have restructured the way I teach math to better meet the needs of my students. We now have Math Time every day. During this 45 minute period, we learn/practice number concepts and patterns. We also discuss addition and subtraction. The students are much more engaged and enthusiastic since we began Math Time.   

ELA
Today the kids met Umbie Umbrella and Jumping Jill. Umbie says /u/  (short) and Jill says /j/. We will also learn the sight word are.


Fourth Grade

ELA
This week we started reading The Scientific Method

AT&T Field Trip

On Tuesday, April 1st, the fourth graders went to AT&T park to learn about geometry.  We had so much fun!
