Math
We will continue learning about patterns.

We started reading In and Around Los Angeles yesterday.  The ELA test will be given next week. 

4th Quarter Book Report
This quarter's book report was assigned yesterday, and your child was given all the information they'll need to complete this report.

- spelling pages, due Friday
- Book Report book proposal, due Monday, March 31st

Class News, March 17-21 & 4th Grade ELA Study Guides/Notes

Kindergarten

Math
The kids took the Topic 9 test today.  It will be graded and sent home this week.  We started our patterns unit today.  This week we will learn/review color patterns, shape patterns, and comparing patterns.

ELA
We met Willie Worm and Edna Elephant today.  Willie says /w/ and Edna says /e/ (short).  We will also learn the sight word play.

Training and 4th Grade Field Trip
I will be in San Jose for training Tuesday, March 25th, and will be on a field trip with the 4th graders Tuesday, April 1st.  Ms. Glass will be the substitute for both days I'm away.

Kindergarten

Math
We will practice counting, reading, and writing numbers 21-30 this week.

ELA
The students will meet Mr. X-Ray this week. Mr. X-Ray says /ks/ (spelled with x). They will also learn the sight word the.  

We will start learning the -ot and -ox word families this week!

Sounds Learned: /s/, /m/, /r/, /t/, /b/, /n/, /h/, /a/ (short), /v/, /k/ (spelled with C), /p/, /g/, /f/, /l/, /k/ (spelled with K), /i/ (short), /kw/ (spelled with Q), /d/, /z/, /o/ (short), /ks / (sound for x)
Sight Words Learned: I, see, my, like, a, to, and, go, is, here, for, have, said, the
