Class News, Nov. 4-8


Kindergarten

Math
This week we will practice ways to make eight and nine.

ELA
The students will meet Hattie Horse and Andy Apple this week. Hattie says /h/ and Andy says /a/ (short). Students will also learn the sight word a.  On Wednesday we'll read Nat at Bat. This book focuses on the -at word family. Please encourage your child to practice reading this book aloud at home.  A copy will be sent home Wednesday. 

Sounds Learned: /s/, /m/, /r/, /t/, /b/, /n/, /h/, /a/ (short)
Sight Words Learned: I, see, my, like, a

Important Dates
  • $2 Tuesday: Tuesday, Nov. 5th (students are encouraged to donate $2 for the troops) 
  • Veterans' Day: Monday, Nov. 11th (no school)
  • Thanksgiving: Nov. 27th-29th (no school)
Halloween!



4th Grade

ELA
The Snowflake: A Water Cycle Story test will be this Friday. A study guide and notes will be posted Wednesday afternoon. 

2nd Qtr. Book Report
-Book Report due Dec. 11th

Homework/Tests
  • Spelling Pages, test Friday
  • Math (check planner)
  • Reading Log (read a minimum of 30 minutes and write a minimum of three sentences each day)
  • Social Studies Ch. 2 Test, Friday
  • Science Unit 1 Lesson 3 quiz, Thursday or Friday
