Class News, Dec. 16-20


Kindergarten

Math
This week we will practice the concepts one fewer and two more.

ELA
The students will meet Fifi Fish this week. Fifi says /for/. Students will practice sight words they've learned so far.   

It is imparative that your child reads aloud to an adult EVERY day! All it takes is 5-10 minutes of daily practice to greatly improve your child's reading skills.

Sounds Learned: /s/, /m/, /r/, /t/, /b/, /n/, /h/, /a/ (short), /v/, /k/, /p/, /g/, /f/
Sight Words Learned: I, see, my, like, a, to, and, go

Important Dates
  • Half Day: Dec. 20th (Thursday schedule)
  • Christmas Break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3rd (no school)
4th Grade

ELA/Social Studies
-We will begin a new ELA unit when we return from break. 
-Make sure your child researches their mission over break! Please email me (sarahradon@yahoo.com) if you have questions.

2nd Qtr. Book Report
I was very impressed with the quality reports I received! The students will begin reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for their 3rd quarter reading homework. Another book report will be assigned for the 4th quarter.

Homework/Tests
  • Math (check planner)
  • Reading Log
  • Spelling Pages (check planner)
  • Study for Chapter 3 social studies test, test Thursday (get study log signed)
  • Science Unit 1, Lesson 7 quiz Wednesday
